2XM Recruit are excited to be partnering with New South Wales Government who are seeking an experienced and skilled contractor to join our clients team as a Project Director (Standard Working Timetable) within the Sydney area. The successful candidate in will represent our client as a Rail Infrastructure Manager to balance the planned access needs of various rail operators and provide accountability for the development of the standard timetable delivery.
The role will lead the production of the timetable and work closely with operational teams. The role will be responsible for leading assurance between clients and stakeholders to ensure network access requirements are considered and balanced, ensuring there is a robust feedback cycle to improve timetable performance once implemented.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cross branch leadership and work with Rail Operations Planning team to understand and validate the infrastructure maintenance, fleet, train crew and event requirements, providing expert advice to inform decision-making and ensure programs and activities across the business are aligned with overarching strategies and priorities.
- Ensure the specification for the Standard Working Timetable is clear and outcome based, balancing the needs of all key stakeholders.
- Lead the team to design the Standard Working Timetable options, ensuring the team balance all requirements and deliver a solution that is operable and resilient.
- Build effective relationships and partnerships to ensure stakeholders expectations are met and lead the development and implementation of strategies to ensure engagement and to provide project transparency with an opportunity for feedback.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/ or significant equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in service or asset timetabling / scheduling.
- Demonstrated success in managing uncertainty and providing high-level advice and leadership in a large and complex organisation.
- Extensive demonstrated experience at a senior management level.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and respond to customer needs, the operational environment and the available evidence to develop innovative and flexible solutions that integrate governments objectives with customer needs to deliver public value.
