Your Role We’re looking for a Principal Engineer – Heavy Lift to lead cutting-edge winch system development in a purpose-built facility. This full-time, permanent position offers you the chance to drive high-impact projects and lead a talented team in an exciting, fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do:
Lead Innovation: Spearhead the development and design of advanced winch systems that set new industry standards.
Leadership: Lead a team and drive excellence at all levels, forming an integral part of the overall company leadership group.
Drive Results: Collaborate with the Projects team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed expectations.
Execute Designs: Create and ensure engineering designs comply with standards, regulations, and client needs using FEA analysis and calculations.
Mentor Engineers: Guide and inspire your team to achieve engineering excellence while providing ongoing support and development.
Client Interaction: Serve as the key technical expert, building strong relationships with clients and driving sales and design opportunities.
Documentation & Training: Oversee the creation of operational manuals, maintenance guides, commissioning documentation, and SOPs.
Strategic Leadership: Assess both short- and long-term needs for the Winch product group, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with sales and tendering teams to ensure successful project bids and technical submissions.
What You’ll Bring:
7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy industry, with experience in a leadership role
Experience across Cranes, Heavy materials handling and heavy mobile plant will all be considered
Proven ability to deliver complex engineering designs to meet client needs and standards.
Expertise in winch systems and a passion for mentoring teams to success.
Strong customer-focused approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
