​At 2XM Recruit, we know the importance of having a good culture within your business so that staff feel included and supported. We see having regular social events as a strategy for creating great culture. One of our celebrations this year was the Melbourne Cup. We were grateful to be out of lockdown, and to be able to spend some quality time with our work colleagues.

Find out how each of our offices spent the day below:

The Sydney office teamed up with our sister company, 2XM Technology and went to Squire’s Landing in Circular Quay overlooking the water and Opera House. It was cited as one of the best Melbourne Cup’s to date, with people enjoying a few winners and great food at the venue. 

The Melbourne team scored a Public Holiday, where many people from the team took an extra long weekend, spending more time with friends and family. ​

The Brisbane office watched the race at The Boundary Hotel in South Brisbane, enjoying some great food and drinks – fantastic day had by all.

Finally, the Perth office went to Optus Stadium enjoying canapés and the awe of being in the centre of an empty 60,000 person stadium. Our colleague Marlayna won the Trifecta via a mystery bet, what are the chances! Congratulations Marlayna, if only we could all be that lucky! 

At 2XM Recruit, we have taken some other initiatives to make our employees feel better during these unprecedented times. It was great to be able to celebrate in person and enjoy Melbourne Cup how it should be enjoyed. We’re looking forward to a lot more “normal” events as each state and territory opens for business, around Australia.
