Yardperson / Forklift Operator
Steel Industry | Acacia Ridge💰 $35 per hour | 🕗 Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same? We’re looking for an experienced Yardperson to join a well-established, Australian-owned steel manufacturing business based in Acacia Ridge.
If you’re confident on a forklift, know your way around steel products and aren’t afraid of a bit of hard work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! You’ll be joining a supportive team where safety, reliability and getting the job done right are genuinely valued.
What You’ll Be DoingYour days will be varied, but you’ll be responsible for:
- Operating forklifts to safely load, unload and move steel and other materials
- Loading trailers and handling awkward, oversized and challenging freight
- Managing stock, completing cycle counts and keeping inventory accurate
- Checking incoming and outgoing materials to make sure everything is up to standard
- Keeping the yard organised, tidy and safe
- Working closely with the wider team to make sure everything runs smoothly
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a current LF Forklift Licence
- Has previous experience working with steel products or within the steel industry
- Is confident loading trailers with different types of freight, including oversized loads
- Understands stock control, receipting and dispatch processes
- Is reliable, hands-on and takes pride in doing a good job
- Works well as part of a team and has a strong commitment to safety
