Trade Assistant Are you a hands-on Trade Assistant who enjoys working in a busy workshop environment? We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Trade Assistant to support skilled tradespeople in the repair and refurbishment of electrical and mechanical rotating equipment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with practical workshop experience who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team and is happy to get involved in a variety of tasks.
The Role Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will help keep workshop operations running smoothly while supporting the repair, handling and delivery of equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting tradespeople with the repair and refurbishment of electrical and mechanical rotating machinery.
- Cleaning, blasting and spray painting equipment.
- Preparing records and photographs of incoming equipment.
- Operating forklifts to move equipment safely around the workshop.
- Performing rigging duties to move large equipment as required.
- Assisting with stores activities and general workshop duties.
- Collecting and delivering parts and equipment using a truck.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
What We’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Mechanical Trade Assistant.
- At least 1 year of truck driving and delivery experience.
- A current MR driver’s licence.
- A current forklift licence.
- A current rigging licence.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace health, safety and quality.
