SMP Supervisor
FIFO | WA Mining Sites | 8/6 or 2/1 Rosters
We are currently seeking experienced SMP Supervisors to support ongoing operations and shutdown works across major WA mining sites. This role is suited to strong leaders with a solid background in mining operations, maintenance, or construction, and a proven ability to drive safety, compliance, and team performance on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide frontline supervision of crews in accordance with site safety standards and operational requirements
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations under WA mining legislation (S26 responsibilities)
- Coordinate daily work activities, shutdown tasks, or project scopes
- Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety interactions
- Monitor productivity, quality, and adherence to schedules
- Identify and manage site hazards, risks, and incidents
- Liaise with superintendents, planners, and other stakeholders on site
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation
Requirements:
- Section 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification (WA)
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within mining (fixed plant, mobile plant, or construction)
- Strong understanding of WA mining safety legislation and compliance
- Current driver’s licence
- Relevant trade or technical background (highly regarded)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work FIFO rosters in remote environments
Desirable:
- BHP / Rio Tinto / FMG site inductions
- High Risk Work Licence
- ICAM or incident investigation training
- Cert IV in Leadership or similar
