Senior Project Engineer 2XM is hiring for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a well-established construction business delivering major building developments across Western Australia.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in coordinating engineering activities, managing design interfaces and ensuring construction works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements, quality expectations and commercial objectives.
The Opportunity This position offers the chance to take ownership of key engineering and coordination activities across significant building projects.
Working closely with project leadership, consultants, subcontractors and site teams, the Senior Project Engineer will help drive technical outcomes, resolve construction challenges and ensure effective integration between design and delivery.
The role will suit someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, leadership capabilities and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a demanding project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering coordination across architectural, structural and building services disciplines.
- Oversee design development and ensure consultant deliverables align with project requirements.
- Facilitate technical reviews and coordination meetings to address design issues and construction interfaces.
- Manage consultant relationships and coordinate the timely completion of design documentation.
- Review construction drawings, specifications and technical submissions to identify potential issues.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities, procurement packages and technical assessments.
- Monitor engineering deliverables against project schedules and construction milestones.
- Identify design risks, resolve technical challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, site teams and external stakeholders to maintain delivery objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project engineers and junior team members.
- Contribute to construction methodologies, planning strategies and project execution decisions.
- Support commercial outcomes through effective management of engineering requirements, resources and project risks.
Skills & Experience The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
- Extensive experience delivering major commercial building projects, preferably within a Tier 1 construction environment.
- Strong capability in design coordination and multidisciplinary engineering management.
- Proven experience managing consultants and complex technical interfaces.
- The ability to lead, mentor and support junior engineering professionals.
- Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, procurement processes and project delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial performance.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing technical deliverables.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.
