Senior Contracts Administrator – Tier 1 Construction 2XM is hiring for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join a leading construction business delivering major projects across Western Australia.

The Opportunity Working across major construction projects throughout Western Australia, the successful candidate will take ownership of key commercial and contractual activities, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance and effective project administration.
This is a senior commercial position requiring strong financial acumen, commercial awareness and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
The role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, enjoys managing complex commercial matters and can balance financial objectives with successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of subcontractor packages, labour and specialist services.
- Administer head contracts and subcontract agreements in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Monitor project financial performance, cash flow, profitability and commercial outcomes.
- Identify, assess and manage variations, contractual claims and commercial risks.
- Prepare and review financial reports, forecasts and commercial documentation.
- Oversee subcontractor payment claims, progress claims and payment schedules.
- Support tendering, procurement strategies and commercial negotiations.
- Review scopes of work, contractual terms, pricing schedules and tender submissions.
- Maintain accurate commercial records, reporting systems and contract documentation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with project managers and delivery teams to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes, cost control and project performance.
Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior contracts administration or commercial role within the construction industry.
- Previous experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects, ideally within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Strong knowledge of head contract and subcontract administration.
- Experience managing procurement, subcontractor negotiations and commercial agreements.
- A sound understanding of construction costs, financial reporting, cash flow and project profitability.
- Experience managing variations, claims, contractual obligations and commercial risk.
- Strong understanding of tendering processes, estimating and quantity surveying principles.
- Excellent financial and analytical capabilities.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against project deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and commercial decision-making.
Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following disciplines will be highly regarded:
- Construction Management
- Quantity Surveying
- Commerce
- Finance
- Business
- Law
- Building or a related discipline
Equivalent industry experience combined with a strong commercial background will also be considered.
