2XM Recruit are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for upcoming FIFO shutdown projects with FMG and Rio Tinto.
FMG – Anderson Point & FMG Christmas Creek
Dates:
30/08 – 05/09 – Night shift (Fly to Perth on the 5th – AM ) – FMG AP
31/08 – 10/09 – Day shifts – FMG CC
Hours: 12-hour night shifts
Flights, accommodation and meals provided
Project Scope
The project will involve working on Line 1 – unit change-outs, completing hydraulic and mechanical maintenance works across four key scopes:
- Tube Fitting
- Hose Assembly
- Mechanical Works
- Grease & Lubrication Works
Position & Pay
Mechanical Fitter – $65/hr day shift
Night shift – 15% uplift
Rio Tinto – Hope Downs 1
Shutdown 1 – Hope Downs 1
3 September – 8 September 2026
6 x 12-hour day shifts
FIPM: 2 September – 2 hours travel
FOAM: 9 September – 2 hours travel
Shutdown 2 – Hope Downs 1
9 September – 15 September 2026
7 x 12-hour day shifts
FIPM: 8 September – 2 hours travel
FOAM: 16 September – 2 hours travel
Requirements
- Rio Tinto/FMG inducted
- Medical & Drug and Alcohol
- Experienced Mechanical Fitter
- Mechanical Trade certificate
Scope of Work
Remediation works on 4M Tripper, a moving piece of equipment on a conveyor system.
The scope will be predominantly welding, with Mechanical Fitters required to complete fitter tasks throughout the shutdown.
Pay Rates
Day Shift: $65/hr
Night Shift: $75/hr
