Are you a self motivated Mechanical Fitter looking for a change in pace? Perhaps your stuck working in the same old workshop, carrying out the same old tasks. Then this could be the role for you! We’re seeking applications from Mechanical Fitters who have a trade certificate and are interested and looking for an opportunity to expand their skillset and try something new! 

Our client are a provider of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance services to automation equipment installed in medium and large fulfillment centres. The great thing about this role, you DON’T need previous automation experience! They provide all the training! 

All you need is a positive, can do attitude, strong intrapersonal skills as you will be on a customer site and the willingness to learn and develop your current skillset! 

About the Role
In this role, you will form part of an onsite Maintenance team of 5, working in a clients fulfillment / distribution centre, responsible for providing preventative and reactive maintenance to a range of automation equipment, including, shuttles and robotics! 

The role is a hands on role whilst, having a direct interface with the customer when issues arise. It will require you to communicate effectively during breakdown situations to ensure the customer understands what is happening and, what is being done to fix the problem. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan and execute Mechanical planned preventative and reactive maintenance of all onsite equipment. 
  • Daily system audits.
  • Build strong relationships with onsite team members.
  • Develop relationships with customer contacts to ensure clear and concise communication during breakdowns. 
  • Undertake Mechanical repairs and component replacements.
  • Using the Microsoft Office, suite of products, produce reports for internal team members. 
  • Using the company CMMS system, accurately log issues, problems and maintenance requirements. 
  • Complete breakdown reports, shift logs, and issue logs in accordance with internal protocols.
  • Learn how troubleshoot and fault find on PLC’s and associated equipment. 
  • Ensure the site workshop is well-maintained, presentable, and clean.
  • Adhere to Australian, as well as internal and external OH&S regulations.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills, Experience, Qualifications:

  • Previous experience maintaining on site equipment either within engineering, industrial, automation or manufacturing.
  • Experience with component removal and refit.
  • Experience with belts, conveyors, motors and gearboxes would be beneficial but not essential
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Hold valid driver’s license
  • Desirable: Familiarity with programmable logic controls (PLCs), experience with automated equipment. 
  • Pre employment medical, D&A and police check to be completed prior to commencement
