IT Support Officer
Level 1 Support
Location: Welshpool, WA
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 p/a Super
Permanent Role
Working Hours: 8am – 4:30pm
Are you a self-motivated IT Support Officer with a background in level 1 support and, looking for a new challenge? Do you have strong customer service skills that enable you to proactively help and support those that need it?

About the Role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual that can bring passion and a desire to provide fantastic customer service to the IT Support space in this engineering business.
The role will see you take responsibility for Level 1 IT support across the business, servicing WA, QLD and NSW with a range of technical issues experienced.
You’ll work closely with the IT Manager to come up with proactive ways to support the workforce with their challenges whilst, looking at ways to further improve the way support is offered!
You will be required to build strong internal relationships with multiple stakeholders to support the management and resolution of issues raised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Level 1 help desk support – responding to:
- New user setups
- Existing user issues, IE, Screens not working, mouse and keyboard unresponsive, forgotten passwords and frozen screens.
- Any base level faults with their systems, logins and operating environments.
- Provide Technical Support: Deliver prompt IT support to users via phone, email, or in person, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- System & Network Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain systems, servers, LAN/WAN networks, and ensure regular updates, backups, and performance monitoring.
- Software & Security Management: Support software installation and configuration, manage vendor coordination, and enforce IT security policies and compliance standards.
- Documentation & Training: Maintain accurate IT documentation and develop user guides and knowledge base articles; provide user training as needed.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with internal teams and external vendors on IT projects, while identifying and recommending improvements to systems and processes.
What You’ll Need:
- Either, some previous experience working in a business environment, providing IT Level 1 helpdesk support OR;
- Be able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, a passion for IT and, a desire to help and work things out.
- Strong communication skills, being able to deal with interstate colleagues and users that may have a very basic understanding of computers.
- Strong problem solving abilities – come up with ways to support users in resolving their issues.
