The Role We are seeking a Trades Assistant to support our Mechanical Fitters with overhauls, repairs, and modifications to mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-pneumatic brake systems and other rail industry related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and surface preparation of mechanical components
Assisting tradespeople in moving components through production stages
Operating forklifts and/or overhead cranes as required
Supporting trades staff with basic mechanical tasks
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience assisting tradespeople
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Strong work ethic and reliability
Excellent time management and ability to work in a busy workshop
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Forklift licence – a must!
Gantry Crane licence – highly regarded
