Production Scheduler
Permanent position
Adelaide, S.A
Salary range starts at $75,000 +Super +8% bonus
 
We are seeking a Production Planner to join the Supply Chain team, within the Pacific Supply Chain and Logistics zone. We are keen to find someone with around 2-3 years’ experience who wants to grow and develop their career and skills.
You would be looking after the manufacturing portfolio, from components to finished goods, ensuring timely delivery to end customers. The ideal candidate will optimize scheduling processes, foster collaboration between departments, and drive operational efficiency through effective production planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain production schedules in line with customer orders and forecasts.
  • Modify schedules as needed to adapt to changing demands or operational constraints.
  • Work closely with production management to track production progress, quickly addressing any scheduling challenges that arise.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure production plans are aligned and executed smoothly and resolve issues.
  • Use data analysis to identify opportunities for improving scheduling processes and implement enhancements.
  • Support and develop team members in scheduling and materials management roles.
  • Support regular meetings with suppliers to review KPIs, stock levels, and production issues.
  • Manage supplier relationships and stock reliability to meet inventory targets.
  • Conduct weekly inventory reviews and oversee stock ordering to maintain optimal levels.
  • Develop and implement forecasting models and algorithms to predict future demand.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to improve forecast accuracy by analysing sales data and market trends.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining an 8-week rolling production schedule.
  • Monitor job progress to ensure on-time completion and minimal disruption.
  • Provide operational support to external sub-contractors, including repair execution and prioritisation.
Experience / Technical Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in production scheduling, materials management, or supply chain.
  • Proven experience with stock management techniques.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and production planning processes.
  • Expertise in ERP systems and scheduling software (SAP) in a logistics environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a proactive mindset for solving problems and making decisions.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience growing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus).
