HSEQ Advisor - Mackay, QLD
2 year FTC with potential to be extended. 
$90-$140,000 +Super – Depending on how many years of experience you have.
 
We are looking for a HSEQ Advisor to provide support to managers, supervisors, and employees by ensuring that health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are integrated into the company's culture and daily operations.
You'll be working closely with the Design and Construction team to help implement and drive HSQE initiatives on site for one of our major projects in Mackay. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the HSEQ team to maintain company HSEQ Management systems and ensure safety standards are met across sites.
  • Ensure processes are efficient, standardized, and complete.
  • Assist with project planning to include health, safety, and environmental (HSE) considerations.
  • Prepare relevant HSE documents and keep safety boards updated, including project management plans.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to review and improve, Safe Work Method Statements, Safe Operating Procedures and plant and equipment management.
  • Support teams on-site by conducting safety inspections and participating in toolbox talks, and daily site walkarounds as well as particpate in subcontrator meetings. 
  • Communicate new HSE policies and ensure team understanding.
  • Continue to develop and integrate the HSQE Management System by assessing the needs of each project and implementing systems and processes. 
  • Lead audits, investigate incidents, and share safety learnings.
  • Provide advice to help project teams meet safety and environmental obligations and assist in project pre-planning.
Criteria
  • 2-10+ years of experience in a similar role within the building or construction industry (Preferably commercial or Industrial) with strong knowledge of WHS practices and principles.
  • Formal qualifications in WHS practices, experience delivering WHS services, and competency in first aid, CPR, and safety management systems (like Skytrust).
  • A current driver's license is required.
  • Valid Construction White Card
