An exciting opportunity exists for a Distribution Centre Manager to join a global Transport organisation. The responsibilities of the Distribution Centre Manager will be to coordinate and manage all distribution centre and warehousing activity, including effective leadership of warehouse personnel and management of administrative tasks in-line with internal KPI’s and customer expectations whilst maintaining safety, quality, cost and efficiency. 

The Role: 
  • Responsible for 20 Team who are operating in face paced high volume manufacturing distirbution environment. 
  • Ensuring a cooperative and cohesive team environment through effective people and time management.
  • Champion and drive efficiency and productivity improvement programs and liaise with other departments and stakeholders as required.
  • Provide leadership to the logistics team to deliver on customer service excellence and value to the supply chain and production teams.
  • Liaise, with local and interstate Operations Managers to ensure processes and reporting across all national warehouse facilities are consistent and efficiently maintained.
  • Manage and control all material movements within the warehouse as necessary ensuring on time completion while maintaining safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of change and readiness to optimise labour usage and streamline processes.
  • Monitor, review and report key performance indicators regularity to the Operations General Manager, and internal stakeholders.
  • Initiate and support capital investments and budgets for the warehouse and ensure adequate availability of consumable stock (packing materials).
  • Manage and optimise storage and storage systems through efficient and safe utilisation.
  • Check and enforce work safety and hygiene, environment and quality regulations and policies in all area’s under responsibility.
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous distribution experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Advanced computer skills, knowledge with SAP desired.
  • Ability to analyse data for operational and performance reporting.
  • Leadership excellence and the ability to enhance, develop and motivate the team.
  • Outstanding decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift Licence required
