2XM Recruit are currently partnered with a new company that is launching within Australia in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) space. They're well established thorughout the US, UK and Europe, and have recently secured their first project opportunities here in Australia, and are looking for a number of people to join their business and be the first people, on the ground. The project is based near Wetherill Park in Sydney's Western Suburbs. 

The Role
We're currently searching for an experienced Site Supervisor to support with their first project kick off in Sydney. The role will see managing a team of between 25 - 40 people in the delivery of a large industrial setup of a detailed racking system. You will be required to manage a team that is working to a delivery timeframe over the course of the next 6 - 8 months.

You will be responsible motivating the team to ensure timely delivery of the required outcomes, being the primary contact for our clients customer on site, and driving OH&S initiatives on a daily basis to ensure a safe outcome for each individual on site. 

Main Responsibilities 
  • Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of the project objectives, whilst managing team performance
  • Work closely with sub-contractors to ensure thier are no delays with the overarching project requirements
  • Monitor costs to ensure project is managed and delivered to, or under budget
  • Provide daily updates on project progress to internal and external stakeholders, being sure to report issues in advance so they can be managed and dealt with appropriately
  • Responsible for daily checks on all plant and equipment so that they work at optimum efficiency
  • Create, allocate and control shift requirements for all teams/sub-contractors and maintain relevant records
  • Ensure relevant materials and consumables are identified, sourced and delivered in a timely manner to minimise project disruptions maintaining records and controlling stock
  • Manage customer expectations - you will be present on the customers site so will need to have the ability to manage them and their requirements

About you
  • Excellent understand and working knowledge of operational OH&S
  • Previous experience managing projects and teams that have been exposed to working at heights, utilising EWP's or Boom Lifts and utilising Forklifts
  • Ideally, you will have experience managing the installation, relocation and decommissioning of industrial machinery
  • Previous experience working within “time critical” production/delivery environments
  • Managed a team of at least 20 blue collar workers in a previous role, including either directly or indirectly (via Team Leaders) managing their individual performance per person
  • Established IT skills including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of products - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • Ability to deal with a hands on customer that will want regular updates, and their expectations will need managing
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, simultaneously
