This role for 6mths is to provide technical documents for possible overhaul of EMUs
  1. Detailed overhaul and modifications if required scope of work
  2. Obsolescence Assessment
  3. New or updated associated operations assets engineering documents as required
Assist the Principal Mechanical Engineer with the preparation of detailed Scope of Work (SOW) on the Vehicle systems which will include body structure, body fittings, bogies, couplers, pneumatics, brakes, doors and inter-car systems.

  • Review any previously written scope of works for an EMU overhaul.
  • Interrogate maintenance records, SEMS standards and relevant legislation to determine whether the previous scope/s are accurate, or if a change is required.
  • Discuss the works with relevant stakeholders to determine any changes required
  • Undertake an Obsolescence Assessment on critical systems and components.
  • Determine the current components on the train using existing documentation and vehicle inspections
  • Consulting with suppliers and QR Stores to determine whether the components are still available,
  • Formulating options to address any components that are obsolete.
  • Submit the draft to relevant Operations Assets Engineering staff, Subject Matter Experts for review and final issue.
