Company Overview:
Our Valued Rail services client is one of the largest integrated and diversified suppliers of railroad and transit system products and services in Australia.
An opportunity exists for a Boilermaker who is responsible the maintenance of locomotives to join their team (Mon – Fri Day Or arvo shifts available), based in Cardiff, New South Wales.

Role Tasks & Duties:

The role includes but not limited to:

  • Undertake boiler fabrication works to a fleet of rail locomotive vehicles in both a front & back shop capacity, rolling stock wagons, plant & facilities as required.
  • Ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with relevant maintenance documentation.
  • Provide recommendations to management on methods and procedures with a view to more efficient (continuous) operations of the facility.
 

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:

  • Australian Trade Diploma Certification III in Boiler making / fabrication essential, (dual trade certification highly desirable).
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years proven practical Trade experience, must understand requirements for 6 & 8 mm M/s penetrating testing.
  • Proven experience in medium/heavy fabrication works, (previous locomotive, mining equipment or mobile plant boiler maker fabrication experience desirable).
  • Possess the ability to consistently deliver high quality (Grade A standard) MIG & ARC welding practical competency. (weld test will be undertaken at onsite in person interview).
  • High level of problem solving skills & attention to detail with the ability to maintain high level of accuracy whilst working in a fast paced industrial workshop environment.
  • Must be able read, comprehend and apply technical drawings, high level of record keeping.
  • Ability to proactively organise / prioritise work task in a professional efficient manner both in an autonomous and team workshop.
  • High level communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to further their knowledge and skills with additional training.

Additional requirements:

  • Passing a pre-employment medical.
  • Australian fulltime working rights.
  • Forklift Ticket & Overhead crane verification of competency advantageous.
What Is On Offer?

  • $57.71 Per hour plus penalties & shift loadings.
  • Immediate starts, ongoing works with OT.
  • Day OR Afternoon Shifts available. (Day = 6am – 2pm, Arvo = 2.20pm – 10.20pm).
