Due to growth and an increase in business one of 2XM Recruit’s best clients are expanding and on the lookout for their next Logistics Controller. This global rail manufacturing Business services parts manufactured on site. Seeking an individual with experience within the electro-mechanical / electronics / rail industry with a sound track record of meeting company delivery, quality and cost targets.


Responsibilities of your new role:
 


  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials from within the group to satisfy customer demand whilst optimising inventory and logistics costs
  • Manage inter company purchase orders and cross company sales order processing within the ERP system in a timely manner
  • Monitor and expedite materials to ensure delivery on time; make suitable arrangements with approved freight forwarders and transport companies for material deliveries.
  • Interface with suppliers with respect to pricing, availability of materials, delivery time, change requests and quality; ensure that problems relating to delivery, quality, service or pricing are promptly conveyed to the supplier and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Optimisation of Inventory without Demand (IwD); actively pursue inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Deliver assigned supply chain objectives in support of annual plan, while balancing material availability against cost.
  • Manage the goods return process with suppliers, process and minimise rejects (Q Notifications) in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Optimisation of system master data - ensure accuracy of data in ERP system.
  • Report supplier performance in respect to delivery reliability (Hard), delivery quality (PPM) and Material Purchasing Index (MPI).
  • Monitor and maintain supply systems other than MRP e.g. Vendor Managed Inventory and Kanban. Adhere to and promote policies and regulations regarding Code of Conduct, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.


To make this your next role you will need:
  • Tertiary studies, ideally with Purchasing & Supply Certification and/or APICS
  • Two to five (2-5) years’ experience in materials purchasing, inventory control and shipping preferred. 
  • Experience within the electro-mechanical / electronics / rail industry with a soundtrack record of meeting company delivery, quality and cost targets.
  • Multi-site purchasing and experience with SAP ERP system is preferred
  • Proven experience in a Servicing Environment
  • Experience working to KPI's
  • Rail, mining, oil & gas, aerospace industry experience preferred
