2XM Recruit are currently seeking an experienced Project / Production Co-Ordinator to work with a family owned company based in Moss Vale, NSW. 

Our Client

We're working with a family owned and operated, steel manufacturing business that service some of the largest and most prestigious building and architectural projects in NSW. The business has been proudly owned and operated locally for the last 50 years, and has enjoed year on year growth, with an exciting and progressive growth strategy in place for the next 3 to 5 years' and beyond. 

The Role
In this newly created, exciting role for the business, our client are searching for an experienced invidivual, that can come in and put their mark on this postion. The primary responsiblity of the role will see you take responsibility for managing the companies drafting resource teams, and their outcomes, that have been operating effectively, offshore for a number of years. In additon to this, you will also be responsible for: 
  • Managing and co-ordinating multiple stakeholders including internal design team, production team, project management team and customers
  • Be responsible for design department outputs including timely response to requests and variations as required
  • Carry out site surveys and set outs in line with project and customer requirements
    • This will likely see you on site 1 - 2 times per week, so willingness to travel for these visits is essential - COVID safe practices in place
  • Drive structured communication between each of the departments to ensure best in class outcomes for customers
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure project requirements are being met both from a quality, safety and output perspective
  • Review drawings from design team prior to issuing to production / factory, to ensure they have been completed correctly
  • Longer term, the company would like to expand their design / drafting capability and would like you, to spearhead this change
  • Continue to drive continious improvement across the business, including the implementation and adoption of new processes and procedures within the design & production departments
  • Look at opportunities to implement LEAN principles within the production environment to further improve efficiencies and output
  • Conduct and manage design review / value engineering meetings to ensure correct outcomes for all stakeholders
  • Work hand in hand with the Operations Manager of the business to deliver positive outcomes and drive business improvement in all areas
  • Dealing with multiple timezones so flexibility required on working hours from time to time

Application Criteria
  • Willing and able to travel to the company's main workshop in Moss Vale on a daily basis
  • Weekly (COVID Safe) site visits - Company mileage policy will apply
  • Previous experience managing structural steel or steel fabrication production & design departments
  • Ability to be flexible with your hours of work - as you will be dealing with offshore design partners
  • Must be able to demonstrate previous experience dealing with and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Ideally, you will have experience working with a robust drawing / design management system, that you can help implement here
