Project Officer/Administrator OR Junior Business Analyst

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Officer OR Junior Business Analyst, with analytical flair to join a global tier 1 company in rail!

My client is innovative and world class – And you are an experienced Project Officer/Administrator with a keen eye for detail, who possess strong business, data and analytical skills whilst maintaining strong stakeholder management and core internal and external relationships.

Based in Newcastle, you will be an integral member of the Projects team - You will effectively be the “right-hand person” of the Project Manager within the Re-life & Overhaul division, whilst also being afforded the opportunity to work with other Project Managers state-wide.

To be successful, you already have proven experience working as a Project Officer/Administrator OR as a Junior Business Analyst within an operational environment, either within Rail, Rolling Stock, Heavy Industry/Machinery/or Components plus excellent knowledge of using software such as ‘Microsoft Power BI’ and ‘Microsoft Dynamics AX’.

Key Role responsibilities:

• Assist Operations and Project Managers with project administration tasks in a timely manner, to meet project deadlines
• Arrange employee travel, accommodation, transport, and logistics
• Manage weekly reporting, collating, and understanding data and coordinating approvals to meet weekly deadlines
• Assist with updating project trackers to cross reference hours against timesheets, subcontractor activity and project costs
• Maintain employee rosters
• Assist with the on-boarding and
mobilisation processes of employees, including tracking, training, competencies, and medical records
• Manage purchase request documents for project supplies and arrange logistics of purchased materials
• Create operational material, work packs, job cards and other resources for projects
• Assist in document typing, formatting, and styling of project deliverable documents

The ideal person for this role is:
  • An exceptional team player with excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capacity to engage audiences across all levels
  • Possesses strong analysis and data understanding – Able to gather, comprehend information as well as report it
  • Proven organisational skills including e-filling, function/meeting preparation and document control.
  • Proven advanced experience in use of both basic and advanced office software packages. E.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively across all levels
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to provide high levels of customer service in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in return-to-work coordination and a general knowledge of OH&S legislation or a willingness to learn.
