Production Scheduler – Redbank, QLD

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Scheduler to work on a number of exciting projects for a global tier 1 Rail company!

This is a full time, permanent role based in their facility in Redbank, QLD.

My client is innovative and world class – And you are an experienced and engaging Scheduler looking for a new challenge which will utilise your planning expertise, ensuring that targeted levels of productivity are achieved.

Based in Redbank, you will be an integral member of the team - This is a critical role which will principally focus on long-to-medium term labour planning for the overall health of the business.

Duties will include roster development, overtime, leave management and training; system work centre/work order and labour booking management, production related documentation and shop productivity improvements.

Proven experience working as a Scheduler either in Rail/Rolling Stock, or Heavy Industry/Machinery/or Components or Oil & Gas or Mining is essential to be successful in this role.

Main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Accountable to Line Leadership and the Maintenance Planners for setting and optimizing long/medium-term labour settings against forecast and planned demand.
  • Accountable to Line Leadership for owning the system to developing rosters that deliver maximum productivity in compliance with statutory and EA entitlements.
  • Accountable for developing shop schedules (production slots) by asset type/class and maintenance event, based on planned demand.
  • Accountable for ensuring Supply Chain commits to delivering and supporting shop schedules/production, slots based on the approved demand plan.
  • Accountable for shop productivity, including analysis of planned vs actuals and root cause analysis on shop productivity failures.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Have a Degree, Diploma, planning/scheduling (APICS) or systems/information technology qualification and Trade qualification with proven technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of heavy industry.
  • Possess 3 years original equipment manufacturer (OEM) rail, aviation, logistics, mining or supply chain industry experience.
  • Possess 3 years planning experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Have continuously strived for personal development/improvement/quality (six sigma, TQM, lean).
  • Have significant ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, AX ……..) experience.
  • Have demonstrable knowledge of quality processes and systems.
  • Have full and restricted work rights in Australia – No Sponsorship is available
