2XM Recruit are currently recruiting for a Mechanical trade assistant / Bio wash operator to join the team of a Rolling Stock maintainers located in the Inner Western Suburbs of Melbourne.

The Role:

  • Long term role!! (3-6 months Casual opportunity with the View to go permanent)
  • Immediate start.
  • Workshop based role in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne
  • Overtime and shift work available
  • $41 per hour super and Penalties
Duties Include:

  • Undertake rolling stock cleaning and washing tasks as required under direct supervision and according to all safety and compliance processes and procedures in place
  • Assist trade staff with maintenance and repairs to customer associated equipment on site and ‘in-field’ operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop area, depot, and other equipment.
  • participation in activities relating to modification programs, equipment reconditioning, fault finding and testing, derailment, and mishaps.
  • Continuous improvements relating to production activities that enhance safety in the workplace.
  • Completion of all required paperwork in a diligent, accurate and timely manner.
About You:

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience in assisting skilled or trade persons, and experience using Pressure Washers.
  • Must be willing to participate in work rosters (including shift work if necessary) and be open to overtime.
  • Good Communication and organisational Skills
  • Ability to understand and comply with Rail Safety and Occupational Health and Safety legislative principles and practice
  • Current Australian driver’s licence is required for the performance of duties relating to this position.
  • High Risk Work Licence – Forklift essential; rigging, dogging and overhead crane is desirable.
