2XM Recruit are seeking a trade qualified and experienced Mechanical & Electrical Fitters who have experience in Rail, Rolling Stock or Locomotives ideally.

This position is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for the Australian maintenance, sales and customer support teams. The role provides the key interface for maintenance and upgrade of components. The position is pivotal to the ongoing development and improvement of process, compliance and reliability of rolling stock configuration and performance. 

About You 

  • Australian Electrical Fitter trade certificate or Tade Certificate Mechanical Engineering

  • Unrestricted electrical license 

  • Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, diagrams, drawings, and specifications, as well as read and interprets internal and external reports. 

  • Knowledge of component overhaul processes and practices 

  • Ability to work well within a team as well as autonomously 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet predefined deadlines 

  • Locomotive experience or experience working in the Rail Industry (desirable) 

  • Sound electrical experience essential 

  • You will have a strong safety awareness and instinctive ability to work well in a team environment 

  • Ability to pass CAT 3 Rail medical and Instant D&A
