Exciting opportunity for an ambitious self-starter to join a major tier 1 company as a Materials Analyst within their successful Planning Division, based in Auburn, NSW!

My client, an Australian renowned and main player in the Rail and Heavy Maintenance industry, have continued to go from strength to strength and expand, thus creating a rare opportunity to join their highly dynamic Planning team.

Initially a 6-month contract position, with the view to go permanent should you do well, the role of Materials Analyst is an integral key role and will be reporting directly to the Project & Planning Manager. You will be tasked to develop and maintain materials supply processes to ensure that both inventory and Rotable items meet the company’s core maintenance demands.

Duties will include analysing data, managing systems, monitoring status, and managing expectations of both internal and external stakeholders - This position is key in managing expectations of both the customer and internal key stakeholders and the role is critical in ensuring all contractual KPI results are tracked with corrective action to improve the overall Supply Chain performance.

The role also offers a chance for a step up to leadership as you will also mentor and train new material analysts as they start within the business and assist them in getting up to speed.

You would have worked within a heavy industry environment in a similar role and possess excellent analytical skills as you will be tasked to provide professional data analysis and reporting internally clearly, efficiently, and accurately on a timely basis, and be accountable for resolving any problems that arise, improving processes and contributing to ensuring the system set up supports effective and accurate purchasing activity.

This is an ASAP start for the right candidate and comes with a very competitive hourly salary.

Skills and experience needed to be successful in the role:
  • Knowledge and practical SAP experience of process management.
  • Strong SAP experience of Materials and or production management.
  • Knowledge of stock control, inventory and warranty systems and processes.
  • Strong statistical reporting and analysis skills.
  • High level of energy and willingness to challenge status quo.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills capable of interpreting complex data form various sources.
  • Experience of change management.
