2XM Recruit are a leading National Provider of Recruitment & Labour Hire Services with over 10 years’ experience supplying qualified personnel to the Mining, Engineering, Construction & Rail industries across Australia. 

Our client is currently looking for a Legal & Compliance Advisor to join their growing team for an immediate start. Some further details below: 

Location: Cloverdale
Roster: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (Part Time negotiable - minimum 40 hours per fortnigfht) 

Undertake research and provide legal support and interpretations as requested by the Governance Manager 
Assist in the resolution of significant organisational legal matters
- Provide specialist information, advice and support to management and staff on legal matters
Liaise with external lawyers to coordinate expert legal opinion
Provide support in the review and implementation of delegations and authorisations
Provide support and advice in the review and implementation of the City’s processes from a governance, compliance and legal risk perspective
Follow and comply with all Occupational Safety and Health and Environment policies and procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others is maintained at all times, including the reporting of unsafe practices or hazards to supervisors or OSH Representatives, whilst protecting the environment and ensuring prevention of pollution
Actively seek and report on methods of improving systems of work, policies and practices, to ensure the continuous improvement of the City’s Business Management System
Possession of, or significant progress towards a relevant qualification in commerce, law, or a related discipline, including significant previous relevant experience working within a legal or compliance-based role
Highly developed research and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports
Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service
Highly developed organisational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects and coordinate conflicting priorities to meet strict deadlines
Proven ability to handle political, confidential and sensitive matters appropriately
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with limited supervision
Ability to utilise personal computer applications and in particular, the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
Possession of a current motor vehicle driver’s license
Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory Police Clearance Certificate
