2XM Recruit are currently seeking a Lead Track Engineer for an exciting opportunity to join our client’s team. Due to the rapid growth within the Rail industry, this position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to share their expertise and have a major impact on project outcomes. The role is primarily based SOR however you will be expected to travel to SA and the Pilbara.

This role is responsible for overseeing and carrying out design, engineering estimation and creation of manufacturing packages. The role also involves liaising with customers, providing exceptional service – problem solving, investigating, and advising and coming to the most effective solution to track issues

 The successful candidate will secure a position within an established brand with a solid work history in WA.

 You will be responsible for
  • Overseeing activities of the engineering team
  • Innovative design of components for heavy haul and the Rail market
  • Continuous improvement for standardised designs and packages for all current products
  • Project management of key projects to ensure all aspects are planned and executed by the organisation to deliver in full and on time
  • End to end PM – Customer enquiry to the final supply of the product, including scope estimation, submission of proposals, documentation, progress reporting, site installation and sign off of final quality requirements.
  • Liaising with customers, providing exceptional service – problem solving, investigating, coming to the most effective solution to track issues
 Technical requirements
  • Optimise internal systems for planning and executing work
  • Customer specification assessment – liaising with manufacturing personal to meet client requirement Innovative new product development
  • Carry out design and detailing work packages as required
  • Cost estimating of total package Manufacture including on site, inter company and outsourced components
To be considered for the position you will require
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Rail industry and Turnout component design
  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in 3D drafting or FEA modelling (Minimum)
  • Previous project management experience
  • Previous experience with costings an improving efficiency for continuous improvement
  • Ability to engage stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Ability to lead but also work well within a team
  • Contribute to the ongoing success of the company and maintain their high standards.
  • Ability to pass a CAT 3 Medical
  • Travel expected within this role
