Our client is currently delivering some of Australia’s most exciting projects across the transport, building construction, defence, airports, mining, civil and social infrastructure sectors.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join in central Darwin, NT. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately owned tier 1 constructor, and an international engineering enterprise. Note that this is a residential role therefor fly in, fly out will not be offered. Support with interstate relocation is available.

Key responsibilities

As Health and Safety Advisor, you will:

  • Lead and promote a positive safety culture based on our Next Gear initiative.
  • You will provide mentoring, coaching and guidance, advice on Safety issues, and identify and facilitate training requirements.
  • Other aspects of your role will include ensuring compliance with the client’s systems and processes, coordinating supply chain engagement activities, conducting audits and investigations, record management and reporting.

What you will bring

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 5 years in Safety – preferably from a Building background.
  • High-level skills in safety leadership
  • Relationship-building and communication.
  • The ability to manage your own time.
  • Work both autonomously and as part of a small safety team.
  • You will bring skills in Auditing, Reporting and Risk Management and strong knowledge of Safety legislation.
  • You will bring an appreciation and interest in applying a different safety approach, and actively explore initiatives which boost the capacity of people and organizations to drive a strong safety culture.
  • Experience in delivering defense projects, and with Managing Contractor models, would be beneficial.
