2XM Recruit are working with a leading manufacturer of locomotives and rolling stock to find an experienced Business Development Manager to join their CBD team.

You will be responsible for guiding a successful sales team consisting of Commercial Manager and Business Development Manager in marketing of their products to a satisfiedand growing customer base across the region.
Other responsibilities in this role include
  • Develop and implement effective sales plans to achieve order, revenue, and margin projections.
  • Identify and manage new market opportunities in CRM.
  • Prepare & complete weekly call plans, meeting plans & associated customer visit reports meeting agreed on sales projections.
  • Create detailed customer plans for assigned accounts that identifies short, medium and long-term sales potential, opportunities, operating structure, contacts, and other relevant information, and present this data at regular Team Meetings.
  • Strategically grow the existing customer base and build closer customer relationships to understand the customer needs, expectations, wants and demands to provide tailored customer solutions.
  • Collaborate with industry contacts to discover and develop new customer leads.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to customers and utilise the Railway marketing materials One Drive database, Customer Presentations and Product Datasheets.
  • Track competitor activities and provide differentiation to help gain market shares.
  • Implement strategies to develop key accounts further and develop target accounts into key accounts.
  • Conduct/attend seminars, training, trade conferences, etc., as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering related field or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Proven field sales experience of between 5-10 years  emphasising direct selling to be customers.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years working experience in VIC & NSW in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Railway industry practice.
  • Consultative Skills - Ability to collaborate with senior-level decision-makers 
  • Tactfulness to understand cultural knowledge and sensitivity.
  • Ability to travel if needed
