2XM Recruit is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Interpreter to join a leading global organisation within the rail industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced parts professional to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the efficient identification, sourcing and supply of parts across the business.
As a Parts Interpreter, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting customer requests, accurately interpreting parts & components requirments using technical documentation and computerised systems, processing orders and ensuring parts are available when required. You will work closely with Production, Rail Services, Warehouse, Line Feeding, Team Leaders and Supervisors to support smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Parts Identification: Interpret parts requirements and accurately identify components using parts catalogues, manuals, technical documentation and computerised systems.
• SAP & Order Processing: Utilise SAP to process parts requests, manage orders, check availability and maintain accurate records.
• Inventory Management: Monitor parts availability, identify shortages and assist with sourcing components from suppliers where required.
• Internal Stakeholder Support: Work closely with Production, Rail Services, Warehouse, Line Feeding and Supervisors to ensure parts are available to meet operational requirements.
• Parts Enquiries: Respond to parts enquiries and provide accurate information and guidance on suitable components.
• Supplier Coordination: Assist with sourcing and ordering parts where required, ensuring components are obtained efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records relating to parts, orders, inventory and transactions within relevant systems.
• Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of parts, components and product specifications relevant to the rail/manufacturing environment.
• Line Feeding Support: Provide support to the Line Feeding team when required, including during periods of extended leave or absenteeism.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow and minimise delays to production and operations.

About You:

• Previous experience in a Parts Interpreter position or similar parts-focused role.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, rail, automotive, heavy vehicle or industrial environment is highly desirable.
• Strong SAP ERP experience – Essential.
• Valid Forklift Licence (or Willing to obtain one)
• The ability to accurately interpret and identify parts using catalogues, manuals, technical documentation or similar resources.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and confidence working with ERP and inventory management systems.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
