Our valued industrial manufacturing client is a market leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality engineered products supplied throughout Australia and internationally. Due to continued production growth, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced A Grade Licensed Electrical Maintenance Fitter to join their highly skilled maintenance team.

This role is responsible for ensuring plant equipment, machinery and automated production systems operate safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime through preventative and breakdown maintenance. Working within a modern manufacturing facility, you will become part of a collaborative maintenance team responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives, fault finding and maintaining critical production assets.

Role Tasks & Duties:
The role includes but not limited to:

  • Perform preventative, predictive and reactive electrical maintenance across industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on automated production machinery.
  • Fault find using PLC software and interpret fault diagnostics to minimise downtime.
  • Read and troubleshoot PLC logic including Function Block and Ladder Logic programming.
  • Work with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), servo drives, motors and industrial control systems.
  • Support commissioning, installation and modification of new production equipment.
  • Work with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems during maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, work orders and equipment history accurately.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with workplace health & safety requirements.
  • Assist production teams during equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime.
  • Participate in shutdown maintenance activities where required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:

  • Hold an active Current Australian NSW A Grade Electrical Contractor License. 
  • Proven experience within an industrial manufacturing or automated production environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and industrial motor control systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and the ability to troubleshoot via PLC software.
  • Understanding of Function Block and Ladder Logic programming.
  • Experience working with PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Full unrestricted Australian Working Rights.

Additional requirements:

  • A partial completion of an Australian Trade Certification will be considered very desirable. 
  • Will be expected to undergo a Rail CAT 3 pre-employment medical with LAB Drugs & Alcohol Screening.
  • Will have to complete an Australian Police Check. 
  • Have fulltime unlimited Australian working rights. 
  • A Valid NSW HRW Forklift License is highly desirable. 
  • The business is subject to the public health order requirements which are released of changed from time to time.

What Is On Offer? 
– $57.20 Per Hour for stand hours.
– Allowances: Shift Loadings & Overtime Time Rates Paid When Worked.
– Fortnightly rotating Days & Afternoon Mon – Thurs shift, with an early Fri finish.
– Standard Working Hours:
– Day Shift: – Mon – Thurs = 6:00am = 3:00pm, Fri = 6:00am – 12:00pm
– Afternoon Shift: – Mon – Thurs =  2:30pm – 10:00pm, Fri TBC.
– Initial 6 Months contract, with a view to extend & permanent pathway succession plans thereafter.
-Immediate Starts.
