Are you a self-motivated Electrician looking for a change in pace? Our client is a global leader in automation and robotics supporting large-scale warehouse and distribution centre operations across Australia and internationally. The great thing about this role is you DON’T need previous automation experience — full training is provided from day one.
All you need is a positive, can-do attitude, strong communication skills as you’ll be working on a customer site, and the willingness to learn and develop your technical skillset in a high-tech environment.
The Role
The Resident Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing planned preventative, and breakdown maintenance, as well as inspections of advanced automation equipment. This role ensures the seamless operation of the site and contributes directly to system reliability and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily system audits.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical breakdown maintenance.
- Inspect and replace hard-wired gear motors and power supplies.
- Undertake electrical and mechanical repairs and component replacements.
- Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders within agreed timelines.
- Compile monthly management reports for distribution.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities to optimise system performance.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
- Complete breakdown reports, shift logs, and issue logs in accordance with internal protocols.
- Ensure the site workshop is well-maintained, presentable, and clean.
- Adhere to Australian OH&S regulations and company safety procedures.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in local, interstate, and overseas training and development opportunities.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications:
- Full Australian Electrical Licence
- Experience with component removal and refit
- Experience with belts, conveyors, motors and gearboxes highly beneficial
- Valid driver’s licence
- Desirable: Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated equipment
- Desirable: Experience maintaining on-site equipment within engineering, automation, manufacturing or industrial environments
- Pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and police check required
