Trade Assistants – Short-Term Contract | Queensland Train Manufacturing Project
Location: Darra, Brisbane
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Overtime Available)
Duration: Until late September – possible extension to mid-October
We’re looking for 5–6 experienced Trade Assistants to join the team at a global leader in transport and HVAC solutions, helping deliver the Queensland Train Manufacturing Project. This is hands-on, workshop-based work with an immediate start — perfect for those wanting steady hours and great conditions over the next 2 months.
The Role
Based at a modern facility in Darra, you’ll assist in assembling, wiring, and refurbishing HVAC systems for rail and mining equipment. This is indoor, workshop-based work – no site travel, no rooftop work.

- Electrical assembly: wiring switchboards, assembling plugs, and installing wire looms
- Mechanical assembly: fitting components, assembling units, and assisting with refurbishments
- Following wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics
- Maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Immediate start – help meet urgent production deadlines
- Consistent weekday hours + overtime available
- All tools, equipment, and PPE provided
- Supportive, skilled team environment

- Previous experience in mechanical or electrical assembly (electrical preferred)
- Ability to read and follow technical diagrams
- Commitment to safety and quality work
- Ability to pass a Category 3 Rail Medical, including instant drug and alcohol screening
